Tour Details

This tour to the Qeswachaka Bridge will take you to discover a lesser-known site on the South Valley route of Cusco. It is located over the Apurímac River at a height of 15 meters. It was part of the Qhapaq Ñan or Inca road network and is one of the Inca bridges that still retains its authenticity, as it is built with puna grass or ichu. Approximately 1,000 inhabitants from nearby communities are responsible for restoring it every year in June.

The Qeswachaka Bridge is a unique jewel, which is why we have designed a special tour for you. It is made with vegetable fiber and is part of the extensive Inca Trail network. The excursion to Qeswachaka is a truly fascinating full-day experience. Come and be part of this unforgettable adventure. Visit and cross the last Inca Quechua Bridge, which is still used by local residents. Every year in June, the bridge is rebuilt by the communities, a process that takes at least three days. Following the ancestral techniques of the Incas, the locals only use ichu and communal work for its construction.
