Inca Jungle Itinerary
DAY 1.- CUSCO – ABRA MÁLAGA – SANTA MARÍA
The 4-day Inca Jungle Tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel at 6:00 a.m. Then, we will board a tourist transport heading to the Helipad, a trip that lasts about 4 hours. Here, the guide will give an informative talk with safety details before starting the bike ride.
The descent by bike lasts approximately 3 hours along a paved road until we reach the Inca Complex of Huamán Marka. At this point, we finish the biking section and take transport to Santa María.
In Santa María, we will enjoy lunch and stay overnight. The free afternoon and tropical climate offer the opportunity to do rafting in the Sacred Valley River, with difficulty levels between class III and IV.
Distance: 60 km. Accommodation: Lodging.
DAY 2.- SANTA MARÍA – THERMAL BATHS – SANTA TERESA
This day, the Inca Jungle Machu Picchu Tour continues through the tropical jungle of Cusco until we reach Santa Teresa. After a nutritious breakfast, we start hiking towards the jungle.
The journey begins with an ascent and several strategic stops to learn more about the local plantations. Along the way, we will find a family house where we can rest for about 20 minutes, stock up on water, and enjoy fresh tropical fruits.
We continue the hike passing through a recently discovered Inca Trail, protected by nature for centuries. After taking some photographs of the landscape, we resume the descent until we reach the lunch spot in Quellomayo.
After a restorative lunch and a nap in hammocks, we walk the last 2 hours to the thermal baths of Cocalmayo, where we can relax and enjoy the waters.
At the end of the day, we head to Santa Teresa, where we will spend the second night in basic accommodation.

DAY 3.- SANTA TERESA – HYDROELECTRIC – AGUAS CALIENTES
This day, the Inca Jungle Machu Picchu Tour takes us to the base camp for the third optional activity: canopy or zip-line.
After finishing this activity, the same company will provide transport to Hidroeléctrica, where we will have lunch before starting a 3-hour hike to Aguas Calientes.
The route follows the train tracks, passing through plantations of bananas, avocados, and other fruits. Along the way, we will enjoy stunning landscapes with views of the Machu Picchu mountains, Huayna Picchu, and Putucusi, along with some structures of the Inca citadel.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will settle into our accommodation. After a brief rest and shower, we will head to the restaurant to enjoy dinner and receive instructions from the guide for the next day.
