Itinerary

You will be picked up between 5:30 and 6:00 am to begin the adventure. After approximately a 4-hour drive, we will arrive at the community of Cachora and then at Capuliyoq (2,890 m / 9,482 ft), a privileged point to observe the Padreyoq snow-capped peak (5,771 m / 18,930 ft) and the Apurímac Canyon, the second deepest in the world.

We will then descend for about 2.5 hours to Chikiska (1,900 m / 6,234 ft) for lunch. Afterward, we continue descending to the bridge at Playa Rosalina, the lowest point of the trek (1,550 m / 5,085 ft). From here, we begin a 3-hour ascent to our first campsite at Santa Rosa Baja, where we will have dinner and spend the night in tents.

At 5:00 am, we will have a hearty breakfast to start the day. At 6:00 am, the ascent begins: after 2 hours and 30 minutes, we will reach Marampata (2,870 m / 9,416 ft), and from there we will hike an additional 2 hours to the Inca citadel of Choquequirao. We will visit its main sectors and, after having lunch inside the complex, continue exploring. By late afternoon, we return to Marampata for dinner and an overnight stay in tents.

After breakfast at 6:00 am, we will begin the descent, passing through Santa Rosa Alta and Santa Rosa Baja, continuing down to Playa Rosalina (1,550 m / 5,085 ft). Then we will ascend to Chikiska (1,900 m / 6,234 ft) for lunch and, after a short rest, continue the ascent to our third campsite in Cocamasana.

At 6:00 am, after breakfast, we face the final physical challenge: an approximate 3-hour ascent to the Capuliyoq pass. From there, our return transportation to Cusco awaits. Arrival and drop-off at Plaza San Francisco, just two blocks from the Plaza de Armas.
