Detailed Itinerary
Cusco – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
Pick-up at 3:30 am from the hotel in Cusco and transfer by tourist bus to the Ollantaytambo train station (1 hour 30 minutes trip). At 6:10 am we board the train to Aguas Calientes, enjoying a panoramic journey of approximately 2 hours. Estimated travel time: 3 hours 30 minutes (Cusco to Aguas Calientes, including bus and train).Final altitude: 2,000 masl (Aguas Calientes).
Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu
Reception at the train station by the guide and transfer to the bus station to ascend 400 meters on a 30-minute zigzagging road to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. Entrance and ticket control to begin the guided tour of more than 2 hours, visiting main sectors such as the Temple of the Sun, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Main Square, and other emblematic points of the citadel. Estimated tour time: 2 hours guided + free time.Altitude Machu Picchu: 2,430 masl.
Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Cusco
Return by bus to Aguas Calientes and free time for lunch at a restaurant of your choice. In the afternoon, we will board the return train to Ollantaytambo (arrive 30 minutes before departure). At Ollantaytambo station, transfer by tourist bus of 1 hour 30 minutes back to Cusco. Approximate arrival time in Cusco: 11:00 pm.End of services.
